Public interest was an exhibition produced and curated by Linn Svensson for Galleri Seilduken in Oslo. It was open between the 7:th and 9:th of March, 2025.
The exhibitions centered around the term interest, and how the meaning of the word differs between its’ general application, and how it’s used within a financial context. While being a word to explain curiosity and an urge to learn more in general terms, in finance it represents the charge paid for borrowing money.
Reflecting on the different meanings of terms and abbreviations in the financial sector, Linn observes the distance between the sector and a general public that is less brokered in such language.
For her exhibition, Linn produced artworks in textile techniques, combining elements from the professional and private sphere in order to give them new meanings.
